Dear Readers,
The Cevennes offer a festival of landscapes, but are also a source of
fabulous local produce. A number of events and fetes are taking
place through the year to raise awareness and get people to indulge in
the wealth of the local
production. We take a brief look in this newsletter.
Top properties this week are an elegant town house in Saint Hippolyte
and a golf course leaseback apartment beside Avignon.

Top Property: Noble house with pretty garden at the heart of a
village (St. Hippolyte du Fort - Gard)
This very dignified property is a spacious and comfortable
dwelling. It has been used over a number of years for guest
accommodation and is hence in a very good state of repair and
decoration. The interior spans from ground to third floor - there are
eight spacious bedrooms (each 18 - 20m²), many with ensuite facilities,
besides a top floor artist's studio (40m²) and attic (60m²). Extensive
medieval vaulted cellars provide additional space, beneath which is a
wine cellar, offering ideal conditions for conservation. Original
terracotta floor tiling, marble fireplaces, iron railings and provençal
decoration offer tremendous character. Large windows make for a very
bright interior. Central heating is fitted. The garden, accessed to the
rear and very private, measures approximately 500m² and is tiered. From
a cool patio complete with spring and fountain, a few steps
rise
to a lawn rich with Mediterranean vegetation. Overlooking the lawn is a
large roofed summer terrace. St. Hippolyte is a 45 minute drive from
Montpellier and Nimes.
